Calculus Behind Cruise Control

by Christopher Gacsy

Submitted : Spring 2019

The engineering in an automobile is very vast and there are a lot of moving parts, but I was able to focus on one aspect that included computer programming. The cruise control computer acts as a controller which sends and receives signals between other parts of the automobile. My findings for this project were predominantly around the calculus that cruise control utilizes. I determined how the controller uses calculus to relay the signals so that cruise control can perform optimally.
