Nucleophilic Strength And Reactivity In SNAr Reactions

by Ethan Munoz

Submitted : Fall 2018

In an effort to find which nucleophile, Piperidine or Morpholine, have a stronger nucleophilicity, I conducted an experiment that reacts them with a common substrate and measures their concentrations as the reaction progresses. In the end I found that Piperidine was, in fact, the stronger nucleophile with a nucleophilic constant of ~2.8 and Morpholine having a constant of ~2.6.
