Approximation of Taylor Series as Used in Calculators

by Cole Lauer

Submitted : Spring 2018

A variation of Taylor Polynomial expansion used in calculators or similar devices to find precise values for e^(x), Sin(x), and Cos(x) and applied to multiple differential calculated equations found in physics or engineering and the results are compared to hand-worked procedures without calculators to find an accurate approximated value. The results found that calculating approximated values in calculators is a complex method and it would be very difficult to find precise values for these functions; the whole world of applications that depend on them would suffer.
