US immigrants were weigh less at arrival and had lower chance to have diabetes. However, after living years in the United States, immigrants are gaining body weight and start acquiring diseases. Diabetes is one of the diseases that immigrants suffering because of lifestyle they follow like other native borns. Health care costs $245 billion for diabetes for nation. if we can do more effectively with prevention for diabetes, a lot of money will be saved and productivity will be saved.
