TESTING COMPATABILITY OF A CAPACITOR UTILIZING OHM’S LAW, RMS VOLTAGE, AND INTEGRATION

by Samantha Jones

Submitted : Fall 2016

Capacitors play a significant role within the field of electrical engineering. This project will focus upon the calculus used within “Ohm’s Law” to calculate the capacitor’s emitted voltage (after being smoothed) and the RMS of said voltage from traits depicted on an oscillator. Oscillators utilize the derivative of the voltage with the respect to time to display the current. The maximum-rated voltage and the RMS of the voltage will be used to determine if the voltage produced after being smoothed by the capacitor is compatible with another form of with the composition of a circuit. In this project, the capacitor was compatible with the planned construction of the circuit.
