Creating an Ideal Roller Coaster

by Andrew Nguyen

Submitted : Spring 2016

The basis of the project includes building an ideal frictionless roller coaster using a combination of piecewise functions to create a continuous 2D model. After producing the basic model, the project expanded on the real world viability by applying calculus based physics equations including principles of gravity, centripetal acceleration, energy conservation and many other ideal formulas. In order to ensure plausible accuracy, some constants were extrapolated from outside sources.
