Potassium – Argon dating of volcanic minerals

by Vincent Carter

Submitted : Fall 2015

Geochronology is an integral part of understanding how geologic features have formed over time. Dating to various points in the past requires different approaches. For the samples being dated in this selection the method to be used is potassium to argon dating. The equation of potassium to argon will be used to check the findings of research done by others on mineral samples from the area. Using the results will contribute to a need to possibly recheck data and how it is reported.
