Growth Rate of the U.S. Population

by Michael Watkins

Submitted : Spring 2014

In this project, data from the U.S. Census, collected by Multpl was compiled to form a trend in population growth. With this trend line, an equation was made that best fit the data trend. With application of simple calculus ideals and principles it is possible to find many different population statistics such as change in population over time, and  the rate at which the populations is changing. This application of basic calculus knowledge helps to solidify engineering principles.
