Optimizing a Fuel Cell

by Gefthe Jean Philippe

Submitted : Spring 2014

The goal of this project was to find the most optimal area for a given fuel cell performance curve, along with the corresponding power, current, and cell voltage at the maximum point.  To solve this problem a plot of the voltage vs. current density, and power density vs. current density was created using the given performance curve.  The maximum value of the power density function was then used to find the corresponding current, and other values such as corresponding electrode area, power, cell voltage, and the load were also calculated.
