Embedded Systems: Missile Detection/Interception

by Lareisa Fulmore

Submitted : Fall 2013

There are different systems functioned through computer components such as embedded systems. Embedded systems perform numerous; specific tasks, rather than being a general purpose computer for multiple tasks. A missile defense system uses an embedded system(s). The defense can be either a weapon, system, or technology designed to attack, intercept, or detect missiles activated by enemies. Through research, I was able to discover some mathematical techniques, which allowed me to calculate different trajectories of incoming missiles. Also, I was able to determine the possible intercept positions and initial missile detection. Vector functions associated with physics, calculus III, and system of equations, played a huge part in finding these important points.
