The Endangerment of Tigers

by Erin Lotito

Submitted : Spring 2013

This project uses the logistic growth equation to analyze the population decrease of wild tigers from all over the world. Population numbers obtained from resources were drawn from three different years in a time span of 110 years. These values made it possible to visualize the gradual decline of the tiger population. It was determined that the tiger population would continue to decline if no action is taken. Scientists made a goal to double the population by 2022 and by using the logistic growth equation, it is determined that a 6.7% growth rate must be acquired to make that happen.
