Electromagnetic Wave Relation to Temperature

When installing computers in a professional environment, the engineer must always take temperature into account. Around industrial machinery, additional heat will be generated and this energy will transfer from the machine to other objects via electromagnetic waves. When a computer chip reads a temperature above a programmed amount, it begins a process called “throttling” which slows down CPU speed in order to minimize the production of heat to prevent the chip from overheating and finally failing. Most chips have a programmed shutdown temperature to prevent permanent damage. If “throttling” is active then every process the computer is running will take longer and therefore waste money and won’t be able to keep up with all the commands a computer user will request.
