In the field of biology and industrial engineering the question of how to monitor the concentration of chemicals in natural resources is of very high importance. In this report, a model for the decrease in the concentration of dieldrin over time will be explored and evaluated with regard to its accuracy, practicality and shortcomings. This was done through derivation of the given model followed by graphical analysis of the experimental and calculated data.

The model was found to be an ideal model for the dissipation of the concentration of dieldrin over time. The model was shown to be a working model, however it does not take into account the scattered data and experimental inconsistencies. Suggestions are made to make better use of the model and its experimental conditions or to use an alternative method of insect control by using microbiology.
