Submitted : Fall 2012

The number of cars is growing as is the use of electronic toll booths. Therefore measurements of the data surrounding toll booths especially in regard to their effect on the time taken to get through are important especially with an eye to reducing the time. This paper provides a model of the average time taken by a car to pass through any of these toll booths. The model is based on an integration of speed. By inserting given information into the model an average time can be found. This time is based on the influence of a host of factors which can be inputted into the model. In addition the model has the potential to incorporate more complicated factors such as varying acceleration.
