Energy in a Capacitor

by Matthew Lewandowski

Submitted : Fall 2008

This project shows the energy from charging and the energy that gets stored in a capacitor in a circuit. It shows a relationship between the energy and watts consumed on a circuit with a resistor, capacitor, and applied voltage source. This project also shows all of the information to be considered when figuring the mathematical equations with the given ohms of the resistor, micro farads of the capacitor and the applied voltage from a source to achieve finding the energy of the capacitor while charging and stored. It shows a direct relationship between the wattage on the circuit as well as the energy charged and stored by the capacitor.
