Abstract

A random matrix is a matrix where each entry is a random variable (that is, a measurable function). A typical problem for products of random matrices with a limit (in some sense) is to identify the distribution of the limit matrix Y (that is, the measure P in the space of matrices given by P(B) = Pr(Y in B)). An easily understood old (but open) problem of this type that involves Gamma and Dirichlet (generalized Beta) densities will be discussed. The talk is guaranteed to be short.
