The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of South Florida in Tampa invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position in Analysis at the Assistant Professor level, starting in August 2008. Salary is negotiable. The candidate must have obtained a Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely-related field by the time of appointment and must demonstrate potential for excellence in research and teaching at all levels. Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests are compatible with existing strengths of the Department.
The application must include the AMS Cover Sheet, a curriculum vita, and a description of current and planned research not exceeding 2 pages. Applicants must also arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent directly to the Search Committee, at least one of which has to address the teaching abilities of the candidate. Candidates are encouraged to include one or at most three reprints or preprints of their recent research papers.
