Project Overview

This project aims to evaluate the role of therapeutic alliance, motivation for behavior change, and treatment expectancies as potential mechanisms underlying medication adherence in pediatric anxiety and depression. Despite the efficacy of antidepressant medications for these conditions, suboptimal adherence to such medication has been observed in previous research, with little evidence to empirically justify the rationale for such poor adherence. This project aims to identify potential mechanisms underlying such adherence, which subsequently could be idiographically targeted to improve adherence to medication therapy for these debilitating conditions.
